Cascastel: Excursion de Cavern de Vin

This past weekend our local choir (Chant de Corbières) played host to the Choral de Cahors. Each member here took responsibility for housing as many of the visitors as they had room for. As the Cahors choir is much larger, a number were lodged in the cabins in our village campground. One of the activities scheduled was a tour and dégustation (tasting) of the Vigneron de Cascastel. As large as the Cave is, it became quite crowded as both choirs filled up the space. Large tables had been set up for the tasting including Rouge (Red) Blanc (White) and Rosé (Rose) Wines, dishes of olives, nuts and trays of pizza and other finger foods. One of the cave owners welcomed the visitors and talked about the local wines produced in Cascastel before we were led through the cave. Most vignerons (wine makers) are happy to give tours to groups when they have notice in advance.  With so many of us walking about dodging large equipment, sometimes an elbow was bumped during a photo shoot so some pictures may be a bit fuzzy. I do apologize for that. Naturally, plenty of time was allowed for purchases

in the wine shop on premises and then we headed of to rehearse for our concert with a large dinner to follow. Bisous, Léa
